Frisiter has various health benefits. First, it is a rich source of vitamin C, vitamin A and antioxidants. The fruit also helps with digestion as it contains a lot of fiber.

Today we’re sharing another Mauritian classic, the koutia frisiter (Ambarella Pickle). Koutia is a pickle that we serve as a side dish with our Mauritian dishes.

  4. Squeeze out all the water from the grated fruits.

  5. In a bowl add the oil, pickle spices, crushed garlic, chilli and turmeric and mix. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt. After all the spices are well combined, add the Frisiter and mix well.

  6. Store in an air tight jar. You can serve immediately if you wish but it is best to serve it at least after a few hours for the best flavors
